Tasting notes
Good saturated ruby-red. Superripe aromas of currant, tobacco, coffee, chocolate and maple syrup. Sweet, lush and suave, with a floral aspect, showing the vibrant, juicy quality of the vintage's better examples. Really spreads out to coat the palate. Finishes with big, sweet, broad tannins and a mineral note.

The elegant, rich 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. It offers outstanding sweet black currant fruit intermixed with tobacco leaf, licorice, and minerals. The wine is pure, ripe, medium to full-bodied, and well-balanced. It is a gorgeous 1999 to enjoy now and over the next 10-15 years. Tel. (707) 944-2877; Fax (707) 944-9454
Deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose combines red cherry, redcurrant, plum, blueberry, licorice and violet. A harmonious, sweet midweight with nicely integrated acids giving it a pleasing sugar/acid balance and good verve. Possesses strong fruit and very good length. Classic Napa Valley cabernet aromas and flavors. There are now about 6,000 cases of this wine, and quantities will increase as Shafer new vineyards come into production.
