2013 Domaine Marc Colin et Fils Saint-Aubin La Chateniere 1er Cru

The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru la Chatenière has a more outgoing bouquet than Colin’s other premier crus. This races out of the blocks with citrus peel and lemon sherbet scents. The palate is well balanced with candied orange peel on the entry, hints of honey toward the second half that does not quite have the precision of the Sous Rouche Dumay at this point. This is a fine Saint Aubin, albeit missing the "Je ne sais quoi" of its peers at this moment.
