Straight from the château's own cellars and on the way down but pretty thrilling. Blackish ruby still. This must have looked like port initially. There was some clear volatility on the nose but the palate was still rich and exciting, even if a bit dusty rather than fresh on the finish. (JR)

About the producer
Ch. Lynch-Bages is one of the largest and best properties in Pauillac, in the Médoc. While officially classified as a Fifth Growth estate, it regularly competes with the First and Second Growths when it comes to quality and ageability.
