Tasting notes
Quite dark copper colour. A little simple on the nose. Fully evolved and rewarding, but now just slightly past its best, I suspect. No great length. (JR)

The 2000 Brut is round and generous in its candied apricots, honey and roasted nuts. The wine offers good length but not as much complexity or personality as I had hoped. The 2000 Brut is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. This bottle was disgorged in 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012. Piper-Heidsieck is another of Champagne’s best-known brands. The house traces its history back to the original Heidsieck and Co., which was founded in 1785. Importer: Remy Cointreau USA, New York, NY; tel. (212) 424-2204
(L070260 11923 on foil) Bright yellow. Leesy orchard fruit and tangerine aromas are brightened by zesty minerality and a kiss of pungent white flowers. Deep and powerfully concentrated, offering ripe pear and peach flavors along with exotic baking spices. Finishes creamy and long, echoing the smoky lees quality. This shows very good depth and strength.
