The 2016 Barolo Bussia is laced with sweet red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint and cinnamon. There is lovely brightness in the glass, even if the 2016 remains rather austere and unyielding. There is just not enough fruit here.

The 2016 Barolo Bussia offers a dark and savory bouquet with aromas of black currant and cassis with tar, smoke and licorice. There is a lot of dark spice that adds contouring and definition to the concentrated fruit found at the heart of this wine. The tannins are a bit too sharp, dense and astringent, and I'm not confident that they will ever fully integrate. Give the wine ample aging time nonetheless.
