Bright mid ruby. Moody, sweet, high altitude Nebbiolo nose. Really sweet and fresh. Rose petals and grainy texture. Long and dry. Masses of pure pleasure. (JR)

The 2011 Lessona is dark, powerful and almost shockingly intense. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2011 for at least a few years, as it has a ton of baby fat that needs time to melt away. An infusion of black cherry, spice, menthol, licorice and spice gives the 2011 its deep, fleshy personality. There is not a whole lot of subtlety to this muscular, potent Nebbiolo. I can only imagine what the 2011 might develop into over the next decade or so.
