Tasting notes
The 2018 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Myglands is one of the most charming, immediate wines in the range this year, delivering notes of dark berries, red plums, baking chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and expansive, it's open and velvety, with lively acids and a nicely defined finish.

Monopole. Tank sample. Light to mid cherry red. Lifted and bright red fruits like the Framboisière, even more intense aromatically. Smooth but definite tannins completely infused with juicy fruit. So scented on the mid palate. Juicy but not simple, persistent too. It’s not bottled but you really could drink this now. (JH)
A mild touch of reduction blurs the detail but the fruit is clearly ripe. Otherwise there is a highly seductive mouthfeel to the solidly concentrated middle weight flavors that possess even better depth on the more structured and slightly rustic finale. This is blessed with plenty of dry extract and is very promising for improving over the mid-term. Recommended for value.
