Tasting notes
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Grandes Ruchottes 1er Cru has a clean, precise, more reserved yet mineral-driven bouquet with plenty of energy. This feels very controlled. The palate is crisp and detailed. A veneer of new oak needs to be assimilated. It's smooth and harmonious with a modern sheen of creamy oak judiciously applied to the finish. Give this time because there is a pedigree Chassagne-Montrachet here. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Aromas of orange oil, Anjou pear and fresh bread mingle with hints of nutmeg and oyster shell, introducing the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Grandes Ruchottes, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and enveloping wine that's tangy and tensile, with terrific mid-palate amplitude and a long, saline finish. This is another brilliant young wine from Thierry Pillot.
