Pale cherry. Not very expressive on the nose but what is hidden underneath is pretty convincing. Lots of fruity richness, with currently sharp acidity keeping it in shape. This should eventually be very beguiling. Long and substantial with notable oak traces still. Ambitious. Long and rather delicious fruit. (JR)

Medium red. Expressive perfume of cherry, leather and spices, plus a whiff of fresh blood. Very aromatic in the mouth for young Clos Vougeot, with concentrated red berry and spice flavors complicated by a touch of noble rusticity. Tightens up on the back end, showing increasing tannins with air. Lingering notes of dark fruits, spices and leather.
