The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with yellow plum, touches of wild peach and beeswax. On the entry, the palate is well balanced with orange rind and bitter lemon. With plenty of extract, it develops superb precision as it opens in the glass. This is stylish and full of energy. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Grand Montagne is also extremely promising, revealing a bouquet of fresh pear and citrus oil, framed by a delicate hint of almond paste. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, this is rich and textural, with a deep core of lively fruit and a long, chalky finish.
