Even better, the 1978 Château Clos de Sarpe is beautiful, and while not as concentrated as the 1975, it has more complexity, elegance, and texture. Offering awesome notes of spring flowers, white truffle, spicy incense, and mint, it has a medium-bodied, ethereal style on the palate, sweet, resolved tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish. It's drinking at point today, no doubt, but these wines age fabulously well, and this one has another two decades of life.
