From the Montagna Vineyard on Pritchard Hill and yields of about 2.5 tons per acre, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1 is a huge, full-bodied, massive beast of a wine. Marked by notes of cassis, blackberry and mocha, no doubt some tasters will find this over the top, but for those who can handle the concentration and power, it will have few equals. Richly textured, velvety and long on the finish, it should still be drinking well 20 years from now.

More iron, red fruits, tobacco, and obvious minerality emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 1, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a site on Pritchard Hill (Montagna). Aged 22 months in new barrels, it’s full-bodied, rich, and powerful, with serious tannins as well as concentration. It needs to be forgotten for 7-8 years if possible. This is serious, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon.
