(the alcohol here is just 12.8%) Pale yellow. Rather exotic aromas of apricot and honey. The fattest of these 2005s today but began quite closed, even a bit youthfully disjointed, showing ripe apricot and white peach notes along with a hint of marzipan. This was less detailed than Ente's top Meursaults at the outset but seemed to grow fresher with aeration, showing an element of white flowers that gives the wine a light touch. Ultimately quite elegant. A fascinating wine that's currently a mass of contradictions.

Much more open, casual and loose-limbed than most of the Meursaults (with the exception of the Petits Charrons) and less intense too. Some blossom and lots of charm. Lemon cough drop aromas. Lots of stuffing but more obvious appeal. Very neat finish. Extremely broad and gorgeous even if very different from the rest of the stable. (JR)
Apricot and grilled nuts on the nose. Sweet, chewy and fat but not at all dry or phenolic. In fact, this boasts a seamless texture and impressive volume, with round flavors of ripe peach, clove and nuts. Conveys an impression of low acidity but with no lack of verve. Finishes rich, nutty and dry, with superb persistence. Heavier than the dense but more elegant 2004 example, reflecting the typical style of these two vintages.
