Silky anise-flavoured, intriguing nose. Almost hints of leather. Big, grown-up wine with lovely texture and promising length of flavour. (JR)

The 1997 Caillou possesses low acidity, an unctuous texture, plenty of honeyed tropical fruit, medium to full body, and a cloying, fat, extremely sweet style. It needs to firm up and exhibit more focus. It will last for 10-15 years.
