The Larrivet Haut-Brion 2016 Blanc hits the ground running with bold notes of fresh apricots, ripe Bosc pears, Golden Delicious apples and jasmine with touches of lightly browned toast, nutmeg and wet pebbles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has fantastic intensity with loads of mineral-sparked stone fruit and apple layers, finishing long and honey laced.

The 2016 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc is 80% Sauvignon and 20% Sémillon brought up in a mix of new and used barrels of varying sizes. It offers a serious bouquet of white graphite, caramelized lemons, crushed rocks, and just hints of brioche. With beautiful purity, a balanced, juicy, layered texture, and a great finish, this outstanding Bordeaux Blanc will keep for over a decade.
A stunning white Pessac-Léognan with a complex lemon-peel, lemon-balm, almond and fresh-herb nose that leads into a very elegant, mid-weight palate thatâs concentrated but retains a wonderful lightness of touch. What an exciting, long and vibrant finish, although the acidity is moderate. Drink or hold.
About the producer
Known as La Rivette prior to the late 19th century, this property is owned by the Gervoson family (best known for the Bonne Maman brand). They farm 75 hectares, with around seven of those dedicated to white grapes.
