Moderately saturated medium red. Coolish, youthfully subdued aromas of blueberry, licorice and menthol. Juicy and penetrating, showing excellent clarity and menthol reserve to its flavors of dark berries and savory, smoky minerality. Not a big wine but has the delineation, firm tannic spine and length to evolve slowly in the cellar.

Bright medium red. Rather brooding aromas of blackberry, licorice, violet and mint. Densely packed and tightly wound but not a bit hard, conveying terrific acid cut to the black fruit flavors. A very pure, primary style of Combe aux Moines with no animal character. Finishes very long and ripely tannic.
The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1Er Cru Combe Aux Moines was another barrel sample that was showing a little reduction, although it soon brushes that away with fleshy red cherry, strawberry and tinned apricot aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, a killer line of acidity, fresh and vibrant with superb mineralité towards the energetic finish. This has great potential.
Mid crimson. Light nose that’s a little pungent. Edgy. Marked acidity and light sandpaper tannins. Introvert. (JR)

Domaine Fourrier is located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate has been run by Jean-Marie Fourrier since 1994, and has rapidly become one of the village’s most fashionable names, known for producing pure and transparent Pinot Noir.
