Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2029, Neal Martin, Mar 2019

The 1961 Suduiraut is probably overlooked given that this is a vintage more famous for the reds, yet it has performed impressively. This has a complex and quite compelling bouquet with scents of dried honey, white flowers, almond and light marmalade aromas that are well defined and give the 1962 a run for its money. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, quite grippy and viscous but it eases off the accelerator towards the Clementine-tinged finish. This is equal to the bottle tasted at the property a few years ago. Tasted a 1961 Bordeaux horizontal in Hong Kong.
