(real Charmes, not Mazoyeres, says Lardiere; just racked) Full medium ruby. Wild aromas of musky blackberry, game, tar and bitter chocolate. Sweet, juicy and concentrated, with firm minerality giving it solid structural underpinning. Finishes tannic and backward, with very good length. The production here was a rather full 48 hectoliters per hectare, says Lardiere.
