Tasting notes
Good deep red. Sappy aromas of raspberry, cola and spices. Tightly wound, lively and spicy; on the lean side, with penetrating acids. But this has excellent inner-mouth aromatic character and an insinuating finish.

The powerful aromas of the 2002 Echezeaux display toasty black fruits and hints of fresh herbs. Medium to full-bodied and dense, it is a well-balanced, sweet, super-generous wine. Its broad, jammy, fat mass of inky fruit reveals flavors reminiscent of blackberries, black cherries, and licorice. This hedonistic effort also possesses a long, plush finish. Drink it between 2006 and 2018. Importers: William Deutsch and Sons, White Plains, NY; tel. (914) 251-9463; and Winesellers, Ltd., Skokie, IL; tel. (847) 679-0121
