Tasting notes
This is showing so well for a white wine with 14 years of age, displaying the real character of pinot bianco from Vorberg. Complex aromas of dried flowers, apricots, pineapples, lemons, crushed stones, flint, blanched almonds and hints of cardamom. Turns to orange peel and other citrus fruit. Itâs full-bodied with an incredible texture, almost oily, yet still so fresh with bright acidity. Long. Drink now.

The 2007 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg offers a sneak peek back in time. What it reveals is the enormous aging potential of Pinot Bianco from the cool climate of the Italian Dolomites. The wine opens to beautifully delineated mineral tones with brimstone and crushed oyster shells. At the back are softer tones of dried apricot and raw honeycomb. It shows impeccable silkiness on the palate with good grip on the palate and the finish. If you have a bottle in your cellar, this wine is definitely worth opening.
The 2007 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg is a very pretty, sleek wine layered with expressive varietal fruit and delicate, nuanced aromas. The finely-knit, mineral laced finish shows hints of peach, apricot and mint. This is a fabulous, totally classy wine, especially for the money.
Fresh, full white-currant fruit. Quite low acid but very fresh fruit. A certain sweetness. (JR)
