Tasting notes
Brilliant violet. Cherry liqueur, black currant, olive and a smoky mineral overtone on the highly fragrant nose. Seamless and pliant on the palate, offering concentrated dark berry, floral pastille and cracked pepper flavors that turn livelier with air. Finishes with building florality and fine-grained tannins that lend gentle grip to the clinging finish.

Moving to the 2016s (all tasted from bottle), the 2016 Collines Rhodaniennes La Rosine is a rounded, charming, Côte Rôtie look-alike that offers lots of sweet red fruits and rose petal notes as well as a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless style on the palate. For readers looking to understand the style of this fabulous estate, give this a whirl.
Bright-rimmed violet. Lively and focused on the nose, displaying intense dark fruit, floral, olive and cracked pepper qualities. Sweet and incisive on the palate, offering sappy blueberry and cherry flavors that deepen slowly on the back half. Shoes excellent clarity and spicy cut on the finish, which is framed by smooth, well-knit tannins.
