Tasting notes
The NV Largillier Brut Nature is from the southwest-facing part of the lieu-dit, which is located on very old limestone soils. The wine opens with a highly pure and mineral, beautifully clear, fresh, complex and terroir-driven nose with some flint-stone aromas. On the palate, this is a beautifully round, elegant, highly finessed and well-balanced Côte des Bar with a long, intense, juicy and charming finish. This is a gorgeously pure, fine, fresh and complex Champagne of great expression. This is totally based on the 2013 vintage. Tasted April 2018.

From the sector most distinctly defined by limestone, Coessens’s NV Brut Nature Largillier, disgorged without dosage in November 2024 and drawn entirely from the 2020 vintage, bursts with aromas of mirabelle plum, lemon oil and cherry framed by a subtle smoky reduction. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and fleshy, rich and vinous, with a broad attack and laden with ripe but vibrant acidity with considerable underlying tension, concluding with a long, precise finish.
