Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Aug 2019

Surprisingly bright yellow. Mint, honey, truffle and a balsamic note on the rather unusual nose, with a hint of citron confit the only clear sign of fruit. Fat, chewy and thick, revealing a hint of bitterness from thick grape skins. The lemon note carries through on the palate of this rather uncompromising, even tannic Chablis. This will get more truffley as it continues to unfold. "Not gone," says Isabelle, succinctly. I would not be surprised to find more flavor interest with further aging, but this wine will never become Chablis-like.

Very pale, green-tinged color. Pure, reticent nose hints at cold steel and lime. Dense, sweet and vibrant, with enticingflavors of white peach, minerals and spring flowers. Finishes bright and very long, with an almost tannic impression of power.

Racy aromas of quinine, crushed stone, lime and mint. Bright, rich and penetrating, with a captivating sugar/acid balance and cut that's even more impressive in the context of this very hot year. Extremely long finish dusts the palate with powdered stone. And yet this very long wine is suppler and less austere than usual. One of the most promising premier crus of the vintage. The vines in this holding range from 30 to 55 years of age.

Aromatically very fresh and bright with undertones of floral and citrus notes that combine seamlessly with rich yet edgy middle weight flavors that offer lovely purity of expression and much more Chablis character than most '03s reveal. The finish is powerful and admirably long with fine intensity. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Oct01,2004.
