Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Dark fruit preserves, olive, violet, smoked meat and minerals on the flamboyantly perfumed nose. Sappy, penetrating cassis and blueberry flavors show wonderful clarity and pick up floral pastille and anise flavors with air. Concentrated but in no way heavy. Closes on a sweet note, with slow-building tannins and smoky persistence. All signs point to this wine being one for the long haul.

Glass-staining purple. Intensely perfumed aromas of blackberry and blueberry liqueur, with notes of potpourri, licorice and black olive building in the glass. Ripe but impressively energetic, offering palate-staining dark fruit flavors and a strong note of candied flowers. Clings with outstanding tenacity on the smoky, vibrant, floral-accented finish.
