Score 88/100 · Drink 2008-2015, Robert Parker, Feb 2008

The 2005 St.-Joseph Cuvee des Anges comes from 40-50-year old vines planted in pure granite. It possesses a dense purple color along with a sweet nose of creme de cassis, licorice, roasted herbs, and a hint of beef blood. Generous and rich, it is not as excessively structured as many 2005s. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. No known American importer.
