Pale, bright yellow. Musky, expressive aromas of citrus peel and nut oil. The palate offers a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity, showing bright pineapple and lemon flavors and superb grip. But at present this does not have the breadth, silkiness or volume of the 2009. Still, notes Prost, this is riper and stronger than the 2007, which he says is pure and precise but needs more guts.

Richer and more oaky on the nose than the Clous. Classic aromas of smart young white burgundy. Marked oak on the palate, creamy citrus, already and unexpectedly quite open on the palate. Nutty, toothsome aftertaste. (JH)

(from three "very different parcels" that are always blended late) Crushed stone, spices, violet and lavender on the musky, high-pitched nose. Rich and deep in the mouth; comes across as sweeter today than the Genevrieres but there's also a pronounced stony, flinty minerality and ripe lemony acidity to give the wine shape and backbone. Quite concentrated and backward today, and ultimately harder to taste than the Genevrieres. Aging in just 20% new oak, which Prost emphasized was the highest he used for any of the Bouchard 2008s, along with the Corton-Charlemagne.
