Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2023-2030, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2022

A late and classic year so picked mid October with these modest alcohol levels. Spontaneous fermentation in tank for all the wines, long lees ageing. The 2021s were bottled mid August 2022. The aroma is delicately marked by the smoky notes of spontaneous fermentation but not overpowered by it. Crushed stones, grapefruit, a hint of lime fruit. Understated purity. Tastes dry but has lovely fruit freshness. Mouth-watering clarity of purpose and flavour. Great length. (JH)
