The Hecklinger 2018 Spätburgunder Schlossberg GG is intense and nicely reductive (burnt rubber) on the pure and refreshing yet well-concentrated and elegant nose, which displays red berry, cherry and crushed stone aromas yet needs a lot of air to show its true talents. Silky textured, fresh and very delicate on the first palate, this is a highly tensioned, vital and sustainably structured Pinot with grip, great expression and promising vitality. This is one of the finest Pinot Noirs I tasted on the preview in Wiesbaden in August 2020.
