Medium red. Lively scents of red raspberry and spices, plus an herbal nuance. Vivacious, linear village wine with modest complexity but good sappiness. Perhaps a touch green on the end but juicy and alive.

The 2016 Morey St Denis en la Rue de Vergy has ample red cherry, strawberry and bergamot scents on the nose, though here I would be seeking just a little more detail and clarity. The palate is smooth and quite fleshy on the entry, moderate acidity, the tannin a little obtrusive at the moment, although they should melt together with time. Not bad, but I want to see more energy and finesse by the time this is in bottle.
