Tasting notes
Dark red-ruby. High-pitched aromas of blackberry and licorice. Juicy and intense on the palate; a step up in clarity and cut from the Aloxe-Corton, offering very dark flavors of blackberry, cassis and violet. Finishes with ripe, firm tannins and a lingering licorice note.

The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets, which sees around 20% new oak, offers lively blackberry and raspberry scents on the notes, touches of iodine emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This Savigny has impressive volume...it really seems to fill the mouth with juicy black fruit, offering a hint of spicebox and white pepper on the finish. This is a lovely 2015 and it should drink well for 4-6 years.
Tank sample. Very close to Beaune. These vines were a little stressed by the drought. Dark crimson. A noseful of ripe fruit. Mulberry juice! Big and bold and honest. With some sweetness and structure. (JR)
