Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2013

The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru de la Mouchere, a monopole for Boillot, boasts a well-delineated fresh, oyster-shell bouquet. It is almost Loire-like personality, with subtle wilted-petal scents emerging in the glass. The palate has a crisp citric entry with a fine bead of acidity that lends this Puligny race and tension, while the leesy finish is surfeit with energy. This is a very fine Puligny with breeding and class. Drink now-2024. I tasted three wines recently from Domaine Henri Boillot in London. Importers: Massanois Imports, Washington, DC; tel. Bright pale yellow. Soil-driven aromas of grapefruit, fresh dill and flinty minerality. Dense and brisk on entry, with outstanding grand cru intensity to the lemon and crushed stone flavors. Conveys a strong impression of silex. This boasts the sappiness of the best 2010s and finishes with outstanding stony, citric persistence. Like a slap in the face today, this wine demands at least several years of bottle aging, at which point it may merit an even higher score.

Complex, ripe aromas of peach, smoke, minerals and hazelnut. Supple, sweet and generous; already wonderfully pliant and round. With its combination of gentle acidity and quiet force, this stylish premier cru will offer terrific early charm but also age well. Finishes suave, sweet and very long.
