The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru has a taut, linear, mineral-driven bouquet that is well defined if not the most intense you will find. The palate is saline and sappy on the entry. It does not quite deliver the complexity that the aromatics deserve, although there is a pleasing spiciness toward the finish that lingers in the mouth. Fine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Tasted blind, Sauzet's 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet was showing well, displaying a classy bouquet of spring flowers, grapefruit and crisp white peach. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, glossy and bright, with a layered mid-palate, racy acids and a pure, delicately stony finish.
(this fruit was picked fully ripe at the beginning of the harvest): Very pale bright yellow. Subtly complex aromas of yellow peach, apricot and spices. Boasts superb volume and a hint of sweetness to its yellow fruit and spice flavors, with harmonious acidity giving the wine a firm shape. Very easy to appreciate today owing to its silky sweetness but has the balance, volume and concentration for mid-term aging. Finishes tactile and very long, like chewing on ripe berries.
