1995 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Prestige des Hautes Garrigues

I was shocked at the quality of the 1995 Gigondas Prestige des Hautes Garrigues, and this incredible effort started out like gang busters and only got better with air. Made from 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre, it has thrilling purity in its fully mature bouquet of garrigue, game, dark fruits and spice. Full-bodied, ultra-fine on the palate, with silky, ripe tannin and fabulous length, it's drinking sensationally today, yet should keep at this level for anther 3-4 years minimum.
