Good dark red. Complex nose combines cassis, violet, herbs, smoke and flint. Sweet, lush, intense and impressively primary; really expands in the mouth and lingers on the aftertaste. Offers compelling fruit and silky texture for the year. Tannins are sweet. Grivot told me he believes his 2001s will gain in flesh over the next six months, but this wine is hardly lacking for texture and richness.

Medium red. Reduced aromas of black fruits and flowers. Vibrant and delineated, with brisk acids giving this wine very good grip. Hiding its density and flesh today, but already shows excellent flavor intensity and energy. Here the tannins are firm but sweet, with little dryness.
