Medium red. Wild small red berries complicated by smoked meat and minerals on the captivating nose. Suave in texture and quite pliant, with sweet red fruit flavors complemented by underbrush and flowers. Much richer than the village wine. Here the tannins are sweet and the long finish offers subtle hints of spices and dried herbs. Today I'd rather own this than the 2005 version owing to its definition and verve but it's early days for the younger vintage.

Medium red. Expressive aromas of cherry, raspberry, minerals and leather. Suave and chewy, with firm but pliant red fruit and mineral flavors lifted by a floral character. This is nicely perfumed in the mouth and conveys an impression of energy. Finishes with good spine and grip, but without any hardness. Still quite youthful.

Cask sample. Quite pale ruby. Very lively and zesty. Great purity of fruit. Real punch and intensity. Dense and long. This is Burgundy! (JR)
