The 2015 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a precise, pure bouquet of crisp tangerine and honeysuckle that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced, displaying good substance, a waxy texture and a smooth, creamy finish. It just lacks the complexity and length of a top-quality Les Clos. Tasted at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Light-medium yellow. Pure, inviting aromas of white peach, apple, lime zest, white flowers and white pepper. Juicy but reticent in the mouth, with its concentrated white peach, citrus and floral flavors accented by mint and salty minerality. Finishes pure and long, with a captivating light touch. According to Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel, there was no hail damage here as the estate's vines are situated in the western half of Les Clos, which was mostly unaffected. This fruit was picked on September 6, which had been the forecasted harvest date even before the big storm hit.
Subtly complex aromas of peach, earth and high-toned spices. Very silky on entry, then densely packed and closed in the middle, showing less minerality than I normally expect from a young Clos. Gicqueau-Michel says this was the ripest of the estate's three grand crus in 2015 but this wine will need time to move past its phenolic roughness. Finishes powerful and long, but I would not describe this wine as classic Clos.
