Tasting notes
Best Montosoli since 1997. Aromas of plum jam and cherries follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a fruity finish. Pure fruit here. The purity to this wine is impressive. It is laser-guided in structure and fruit. Try in 2014.

Medium fresh red. Red berries, minerals, spices and an exotic whiff of white fruits on the nose, along with complicating hints of leather and animal fur. Lush, sweet and sexy, showing a fine-grained, suave texture to the flavors of red fruits and leather. Quite full for an Altesino wine, in the ripe, rich style of the vintage. And a step up in intensity and structure from the 2007 classico. Finishes with utterly smooth tannins and terrific lingering perfume. These 2007s are worthy successors to Altesino's outstanding 2006s. (ST)
The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli shows fabulous depth and richness from start to finish. Tobacco, cedar, licorice, new leather and spices add complexity to the fruit in this beautifully textured, expressive Montosoli. Waves of fruit build through to the finish as this intense, rich Brunello shows off its pedigree.
