Pierre-Yves Colin's 2009 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières is aging very gracefully indeed, wafting from the glass with notes of lemon oil, crisp yellow apple, pastry cream and struck match. Medium to full-bodied, textural and multidimensional, it's deep and complete, with lively acids and chalky structuring dry extract, concluding with a long and beautifully defined finish. How gratifying it is to see that some white Burgundies still have the potential to follow a classical evolutionary trajectory in the cellar.

Light gold. Liquorice and smoke on the nose. Lively and lighter than the Genevrières. Perhaps just higher in acidity? Racy and a little hot but without quite the integration of the Genevrières. Still a bit brutal. (JR)

There is delicacy and understatement to the 2009: touches of limestone, white peach and a light touch of honey. I do not think the 2010 has quite the complexity or nuance of the 2010. It remains well-balanced with spicier, slightly more viscous fruit than the succeeding vintage, with an assertive tropical fruit-tinged finish. Very fine, but the 2010 has more class and better expression of terroir. Drink 2014-2023. Tasted December 2012. eRobertParker.com.June, 2013
