Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2012-2030, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Mar 2018
Impenetrably dark ruby. Fine yet opulent dried cherry with hints of Moroccan leather. Great depth, but not as immediately enticing as the 1999. Dark cherry fruit with appassito notes. The rich tannins go well with the concentrated intense fruit, but it is less polished and complex overall than the previous vintage and a little hot on the finish. (WS)

About the producer

Dal Forno Romano
Along with Giuseppe Quintarelli, Dal Forno Romano makes the best wines in the Veneto. The history of Dal Forno Romano, however, is much shorter, and its rise to fame much faster.
