Saturated, dark red-ruby color. Soil-driven aromas of dark cherry, mocha, cocoa powder and pungent minerality. Like liquid silk in the mouth, with great finesse and perfume to its ineffable raspberry and mineral flavors. Wonderfully concentrated, classy wine with an utterly seamless texture. This saturates every millimeter of the mouth. The suave, perfumed finishing flavors go on and on yet remain virtually weightless. A great wine: Meunier considers it the best he has made since 1993.

A classically elegant, pure, expressive and ultra refined nose that is positively kaleidoscopic in its breadth with wonderfully enticing perfumed black fruit and Asian spice notes that can also be found on the classy, fine, mineral-infused and sweet flavors that are seductively textured, long and gorgeously balanced. This is particularly stylish but with fantastic depth and punch. This is at present almost strict and will require plenty of time but make no mistake, it's a real stunner of a wine.

Good deep red. Shows less immediate charm on the nose than the Clos Vougeot but the aromas of dark fruits, minerals, flowers and Oriental spices are pure and complex. Then large-scaled and sweet in the mouth, with superb perfume and grip. Offers a rare combination of power and finesse. Best today on the whiplash of a finish. This is like a two-stage rocket, as it seems to gain in intensity 20 seconds after you swallow or spit. Very classy, perfumed wine-yet another superb example of 2005 RSV.
