Pale yellow. Knockout nose offers citrus peel, white peach, iodine, nut oil and powdered stone, plus a whiff of barrel char. Dense, sweet and deep, with terrific penetration of flavor. This saturates the palate without coming across as a bit heavy. I followed this wine for days and it showed increasing richness and sweetness of fruit without losing its verve or grip. (In fact, Ramonet's top six or seven '06s are extremely backward and almost completely avoid the exotic side of this vintage.) Quite aristocratic.
