Cedary dark fruit and some leafy notes. Rather dry but not hard. Lightish. (JH)

Bright ruby. Relatively volatile. Some putty and dried-fruit character on the nose and then pretty chewy tannins. Certainly not smooth and harmonious but there is some drinking pleasure to be had here. (Average group score: 15) (JR)

A forward, peppery, black currant-scented perfume emerges from this deep ruby/purple-tinged 2003. With good ripeness, moderate tannin, soft acidity, and a precocious, forward style, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years.
