The 2017 Beaune du Château Blanc 1er Cru comes from 10 hectares over five different Premier Crus. It has a pretty apricot blossom and white peach bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The fresh palate is a little oaky on the entry – just 15% though, and that will be absorbed. The well-defined, commercially savvy finish shows a touch of brioche on the aftertaste.

The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru du Château Blanc displays aromas of green orchard fruit, blanched almonds and white flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, elegantly delicate palate with good concentration and a saline finish. Supple and open-knit, it will drink well in its youth.
Hints of very ripe stone fruits and a whiff of banana on the nose. In a broad, fat, rather glyceral style, suggesting lower acidity than a couple of the previous wines. Began a touch blurry in the middle palate and warm on the aftertaste but tightened up with aeration, showing a floral quality and better delineation. (this and the Beaune Clos Saint-Landry were harvested with 14% potential alcohol, but both wines are from older vines and modest yields)
