The 2017 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has more vigor and energy on the nose compared to the Les Gouttes d’Or, offering charming yellow fruit and waxy aromas. The palate is well balanced and quite weighty in the mouth, displaying citrus peel and light mineral notes. Perhaps it just lacks a little weight, but it should improve in bottle.
A sexy essence of Meursault on the nose, offering scents of white peach and nectarine, hazelnut and spices. At once suaver and more vibrant than the Goutte d'Or, displaying the concentration of old vines planted in the 1950s; the yield here was a low 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Frédéric Weber. Finishes savory, chewy and long, with harmonious framing acidity. This was one of the last Meursaults harvested in 2017, on September 13. (14% alcohol)
