The Rust en Vrede 2021 Stellenbosch Estate Red is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Syrah and 10% Merlot. The wine offers a solid ensemble of aromas that range from dark fruit, spice, grilled herb and crushed stone. It really runs the full gamut, considering this blend of hearty grapes. The house style has seen tweaks over recent years, which makes the wine less extracted and more elegant in style. This vintage fits the bill with perfumed fruit nuances, bright acidity and polished tannins. This release of 74,514 bottles ages in all French oak for 18 months, with 20% new wood.
