Lastly, the 2019 Red Blend Prince Of Hearts is another fresh, elegant, wonderfully pure beauty from this team. A blend of 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot, it offers a spicy, leafy herb, darker cherry, and currant-driven bouquet, medium to full body, ripe polished tannins, and a great finish. It’s one classy, elegant red blend to enjoy over the coming 15 years or so.

The 2019 Prince of Hearts offers lovely density in an understated style for the year. Sweet red cherry, red plum, mocha, spice and new leather all grace this super-expressive red blend from Blankiet. In this tasting, the 2019 comes across as more aromatic and elegant than the richer 2018.
The 2019 Prince of Hearts Paradise Hills Vineyard is composed of 51.5% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3.5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, intense blueberries, black cherries and plums erupt from the nose, with spicy undertones and sparks of dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, the palate is chock-full of bright, lively black fruits, supported by firm, rounded tannins, finishing very long with loads of savory/earthy nuances.
