Score 86/100 · Drink 2020-2023, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Mar 2020

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 3% Malbec, the 2017 Delaire Graff Botmaskop begins with a big and brooding nose. The full-bodied palate shows dense, slightly stewed black fruits before merging to a bitter back end with flavors of dark roasted coffee. I think the Petit Verdot carried the wine too far, as it concludes with a drying finish.
