Tasting notes
The entry-level Zinfandel is the 2015 Zinfandel Russian River Estate, which is mostly Zinfandel yet has smaller amounts of Peloursin, Negrette, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Carignan. Blueberries, cedar, sandalwood, and Asian spice notes all emerge from this medium-bodied, elegant, silky beauty that has terrific purity of fruit. This beauty is already hard to resist yet should cruise for 7-8 years. Winemaker Jake Bilbro has produced a bevy of brilliant Zinfandels that show the balance and elegance that’s the hallmark of the great 2016 vintage.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Zinfandel Estate has a super spicy nose with tons of red and black berry preserves notes over hints of raisin cake, powdered cinnamon, sandalwood and unsmoked cigars. The palate is full-bodied with plush tannins and oodles of freshness boosting the rich, spicy fruit, finishing long and earthy. 1,826 cases produced.
The 2015 Zinfandel Estate is fabulous. Juicy, pliant and quite giving, the 2015 is impeccably balanced, not to mention flat out delicious. The flavors are resonant and delineated in this juicy, flavorful wine from Limerick Lane. A burst of sweet red cherry, plum, hard candy and mint add the closing flourish.
