Tasting notes
The 2015 Promis is an attractive, entry-level wine from Gaja's Ca' Marcanda estate. Drink this mid-weight, perfumed red over the next few years. Lifted floral notes add to the wine's gracious, delicate feel. Although not a big wine, the 2015 is very finessed and quite classy.

The 2015 Promis checks in as 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and the rest Sangiovese, all from darker, richer soils, that spent 12 months in barrel. From a warm, sunny, classic year, it offers lots of black cherry and currants fruits, hints of forest floor, spice, and damp earth, medium to full-bodied richness, and moderate tannin. It’s a charming, incredibly enjoyable effort to drink over the coming 7-8 years.
Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese are the backbone of the 2015 Promis. Compared to the Bolgheri Rosso Magari, this wine delivers a slightly easier approach with a savory flavor profile. Dried berries and cassis are followed by leather, tobacco and a touch of black tar. This wine is a hair more advanced in terms of its evolution too. The finish offers a moment of austerity with smoky end notes.
An extremely floral and almost pinot-noir-like wine with fresh rose petals, wild strawberries and red cherries. Medium to full body, fine tannins, a pretty line of acidity and a succulent finish. Drink now.
