Tasting notes
Blended with 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Cabernet Franc shows how well Cabernet Franc did in this more challenging vintage. Ripe, darker berry fruits, forest floor, cedar pencil, chocolate, and sappy flower notes define this beauty, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a concentrated, balanced mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's up with the flagship cuvées and is well worth your time and money. Drink 2025-2037.

Pride's 2022 Cabernet Franc blends 56% Sonoma fruit with 44% Napa and includes 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a bright, cheery offering, with ripe cherries and vanilla on the nose. The wine is medium- to full-bodied, with a texture somewhere between silky and velvety, and it has a long finish redolent of cherries.
The 2022 Cabernet Franc is another pretty big wine in this flight of 2022s. Dark-toned fruit, mocha, new leather, incense, espresso and dried herbs build in the glass. I would give this a year or two in bottle, as the tannins are a bit incisive at this stage. Attractive floral notes linger on the close. This is clearly a wine shaped by the year.
